Policies last updated 8/20/2026. The most recent posted policies are considered authoritative and enforceable.
Thank you for joining us at a Pastimes Events show. Whether this is your first event or your fiftieth, we want you to have a great time. This page covers the policies and information that apply to all Pastimes Events shows. For conventions where Pastimes Events is running events on behalf of another organizer, these policies apply where Pastimes is responsible for those areas.
If you have questions that aren’t answered here, join our Discord at pastimesevents.com/discord or email us at support@pastimesevents.com
At Pastimes Events, we believe that games bring people together. Competition is part of that, but so is community. We expect every attendee to treat others with respect, follow the rules, and contribute to an environment where everyone can have fun.
Pastimes Events is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe at our events.
If you notice activity that violates the rules outlined here, please inform a Pastimes Events staff member.
Everyone at a Pastimes Events show should observe common sense standards for behavior, personal interaction, courtesy, and respect. Harassing, threatening, or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Attendees are welcome to express themselves through clothing, accessories, playmats, sleeves, deck boxes, card alters, and other personal items. However, messaging, symbols, imagery, or language that demeans, threatens, intimidates, or dehumanizes any group of people will not be permitted. This standard applies equally to all forms of personal expression brought into our events.
This includes, but is not limited to:
To be clear, this policy is not about silencing any one political perspective. It applies equally across the spectrum. A shirt calling for harm to any political group is treated the same as a symbol targeting any community based on identity. The standard is whether the expression demeans, threatens, or dehumanizes a group of people.
Pastimes Events management reserves the right to determine whether specific expression violates this policy. Attendees may be asked to remove, cover, or change any item that management determines violates this policy. Refusal to comply may result in removal from the event without refund and potential exclusion from future Pastimes Events.
Attendees who have been banned from events by Wizards of the Coast, Ravensburger, other publishers or by Pastimes Events are not welcome to participate in those games at our events. If you have questions about your status, please email support@pastimesevents.com
Our events are all-ages, and we ask that attire reflect that. The following guidelines apply to all attendees regardless of gender, and size. Weight-based discrimination in dress code enforcement will not be tolerated.
Pastimes Events staff and venue security reserve the right to inspect all props to ensure safety. By attending a Pastimes event, all attendees agree to this inspection.
Props must meet the following requirements:
If any prop is used in a threatening or violent manner, the wielder of the prop (and its owner even if not in possession of their property at the time) may be subject to punishment up to and including removal from the convention and not be allowed to return. Appropriate action will be taken depending on the severity of the offense.
Weapons are not permitted at Pastimes Events under any circumstances. This includes guns, knives, pepper spray or other aerosols, blunt items with no practical purpose at the event, and any items brought with intent to harm. If you are found with such items, you will be asked to leave immediately and may be barred from future events.
Registration details, dates, prices, and badge types are listed on each show’s specific event page. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. At some consumer shows payment for badges and events must process through the convention’s payment service.
Everyone attending a Pastimes Events show where Pastimes has issued a badge, must wear that badge for identification at all times. Badges are required to register for events and provide access to the Vendor Row, Artist/Creator Alley, seminars, and other activities.
Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an attending adult. If your child wants to participate in an event that requires purchasing an entry, a badge must be purchased for them. Children over 12 are subject to standard badge costs.
For their safety, parents must register all children ages 12 and under at Badge Registration on-site. A wristband listing the parent’s or guardian’s contact information will be issued and must be worn on the child’s wrist during the show.
If you purchased a badge in advance, pick it up at the Will Call desk with a valid government-issued photo ID. Small children without photo ID must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with valid ID. Wait times may vary. Check your event’s specific page for any additional pickup requirements.
Pastimes Events cannot replace lost, stolen, or forgotten badges or Prize Tix. Please be responsible with your materials. Lost items can be repurchased at full cost if available. Check with the Info Desk to see if your materials have been turned in to Lost and Found before purchasing replacements.
You may register for multiple events, but you can only be active in one at a time. “Active” means playing games or constructing a deck.
If you would become active in two events simultaneously, you must drop from one. Do not double queue. If we find you actively participating in two events, you will be dropped from one or both.
Refunds will not be issued if you are removed from an event for registering for multiple events at the same time
Pastimes events will adhere to the official rules for a game, format, or system unless specified otherwise. If specified otherwise, the rules that Pastimes will specifically be using can be found at pastimesevents.com/formats
Artistically altered cards are generally allowed for tournament play, except in circumstances where the game system disallows them.
Altered Cards may never contain the following:
Pastimes Events and the Head Judge are the final authority on card acceptability. If you plan to use altered cards, check with staff or the Head Judge before your event begins.
Proxies, fake, or playtest cards are not legal for play in any Pastimes event. Players are expected to use real game pieces unless otherwise allowed by the rules of a game system. A Head Judge may issue a proxy for a card damaged during a tournament.
Magic: the Gathering events that are run by Pastimes and sanctioned by Wizards of the Coast do not allow Gold-Bordered, Collectors’ Edition, playtest, or proxy cards. Sanctioned events are any on-demand or scheduled event.
Trading cards is welcome at Pastimes Events. Everyone is free to trade cards or Prize Tix for the purpose of building decks or collecting.
Trading cards primarily to gain value or earn a profit is restricted to those with prior permission from Pastimes Events. Taking up excessive space or transporting excessive amounts of trade stock may be restricted.
Buying and selling cards with anyone other than official vendors is strictly prohibited.
Buying and selling Prize Tix is not allowed by any individuals or vendors.
No advertising of any kind is permitted at a Pastimes Events show without prior permission. This includes passing out fliers, business cards, or promotional materials.
Wearing a t-shirt representing a store or using a playmat or sleeves with a store logo is fine. Actively soliciting or distributing promotional materials is not.
Violation of this policy may result in removal from the event without refund.
Please keep drinks on the floor rather than on tables at all times. Spills can damage cards and disrupt games. All trash must be disposed of in proper containers. Do not leave trash on tables.
Some event locations may enforce “no outside food and beverage” or designated eating area policies. Check your event page for venue-specific rules.
Show hours are listed on each event’s specific page.
For questions about any Pastimes Events policies or assistance during the show, visit the Info Desk.
For questions prior or after the event, please utilize our Discord server at pastimesevents.com/discord or email support@pastimesevents.com
Start by checking where you were last sitting. Items are often left on or under tables after matches or casual play.
If you can’t find it, visit the Information Desk, where staff maintain a lost and found inventory from items turned in by staff, judges, and other attendees.
If your item hasn’t been turned in yet, leave your name, contact information, and a description of the item with staff. If it’s found during the weekend, we will contact you.
For TCG items and accessories (cards, decks, boxes, etc.), email support@pastimesevents.com or reach out via our Discord with a description of the item, including any unique or identifying features.
If we believe we have your item, we will confirm and arrange return shipping. Please note that items are often in transit following a show and need to be unpacked and verified at our warehouse, which may take one to three weeks.
For non-TCG items (clothing, glasses, wallets, etc.), contact the venue directly. These items are left with venue staff at the end of the weekend.
For refund requests during the show, speak to a Pastimes Events staff member at the Info Desk. For requests before or after the show, email support@pastimesevents.com
Information about prizes, Prize Tix, and the Prize Wall can be found at pastimesevents.com/prizes
Prizes must be claimed during the show in which they are rewarded and will not be mailed after the close of the show.
Prize Tix have no cash value. Prize Tix are only valid for the duration of the event they were issued at and cannot be saved for or redeemed at future events.
By purchasing a badge and attending a Pastimes Events show, attendees agree to the following:
For conventions where Pastimes Events is operating within a larger show (such as PAX, Gen Con, or MagicCon), these policies apply to areas and activities under Pastimes Events’ direct management.
The host convention’s own policies also apply, and attendees are expected to follow both.
Where policies overlap, the more restrictive standard applies.
